Good to know: The type of devices you can use to watch Showmax may change depending on your Showmax plan. For more information, take a look at What is the difference between All Devices and Mobile Only plans?
Mobile phones and tablets
- Android mobile devices running Android 7 or higher.
- Huawei with HMS / App Gallery
TVs and media boxes
- Android TV devices running Android 5.1 or higher, including:
- Android TV-enabled Smart TVs, such as Sony Bravia
- Set-top boxes, including NVIDIA Shield
- Media boxes running the Android TV operating system
Good to know: Showmax recommends checking carefully before purchasing any Android device, as some models may use an operating system which does not support the Showmax app. If you're unsure, check if the device runs on Android 4.4.0 or higher, make sure the device is not rooted, and ensure the device meets Showmax's HDCP and DRM requirements.
