The drama series starts with Frida disappearing while out with her cousins on her father's birthday. Later, her phone and the dress she was wearing are recovered, and a mysterious man claims he's holding her captive.
Frida's kidnapper demands $1 million for her release and instructs Frida's father, Abelardo, not to get the police involved. Enrique gives Abelardo the money, but the captor changes his mind before the exchange occurs.
The police are present in Frida's release negotiations, complicating the situation. The kidnapper demands $2 million more. Rafael sees that Ingrid has cut her wrists.
Abelardo recognizes the voice in the recording of the kidnapper's call, and the police go after him. The kidnapper flees, leaving the captive behind. However, it is not Frida.
Marcela notices that her husband does not answer the phone in front of her. Her therapist advises Cabrera to leave Frida's case.
The police discover that Diego uses drugs, and he becomes a suspect in Frida's case. Sasha and Abelardo are considering separating for a while.
More questions arise when the delegation learns that Frida provided a medical certificate for not going to school. Enrique tells Abelardo that he is not alone in the house when he opens up about his relationship.
Abelardo accuses the cousins of lying about Frida's disappearance. Salvador spies on his wife's phone. Marcela finds out that Cabrera lost his family eight years ago.
Marcela is involved in an office scandal and swears she has an ace to uncover some secret at work. Salvador believes that Rafaela is unfaithful to him.
Frida's parents are frustrated when the police make it clear that there is a protocol to be observed before following a lead. Gaby discovers that her friend is homosexual. Marcela faints when she gets home.
Martin goes to therapy and makes a big confession. Experts suspect that Frida may have been held in a cabin until two days ago, and Marcela keeps hope that her daughter could still be alive.
Abelardo does not believe that Cebrera can handle Frida's case, and he demands that he be removed from the case. Ingrid tries to commit suicide, but her family finds out just in time.
Marcela finds out how Cabrera's family was murdered during organized crime activities. Abelardo worries that Marcela is becoming distant and believes it has nothing to do with their daughter's disappearance.
Frida's mother asks Cabrera on a date behind her husband's back. The police confirm that they are investigating the possibility of Frida being held by a child trafficking network.
Rafaela gives Salvador an ultimatum after refusing to commit to coming home early. Diego is suspended at school for hitting a gay man.
Gaby tells Ángel that her husband does not want to have another child with her and is determined to investigate what made him change his mind. Rafaela crashes while fixing things with Salvador over the phone.
A body of a young woman with Frida's characteristics has been found, and Frida's parents are called to identify the body. Diego asks Ángel insensitive questions regarding homosexuality.
Martín Cabrera confesses in therapy that he is in love. Rafaela finds her husband celebrating with prostitutes in the office.
The police rush to where the call to Frida's family was made. The evidence suggests that Frida may still be alive. Rafaela and Salvador insult each other.
A family member appears to be involved in Frida's kidnapping. Enrique is a suspect because of his burdensome debt. Ángel and Antonio kiss after a night of drinking.
Frida talks to her father over the phone and begs him to do something to get her out of there. The police cannot trace the call. Rafaela goes on another date with Enrique.
Salvador blackmails Abelardo to regain control of his architectural project with the help of his wife. Cabrera is frustrated with Frida's case. Robles tells Marcela that Cabrera is not doing a great job with the case because of his past.
Abelardo threatens to kill his brother-in-law when he is cornered. Cantú discovers that Ángel is not who he claims to be at the US embassy.
Marcela confronts Cabrera about her husband's infidelity, and she cheats back with a colleague.
The police analyze a hand-written letter. Rafaela ends up having passionate sex with Salvador in the office during a confrontation regarding Sasha's hiring.
Marcela must take the money alone to a public park to get Frida. Abelardo is worried when he loses communication with her before the exchange is complete. Gaby fires Sasha in a fit of rage.
The kidnapper still has not released Frida hours after getting the money. The police suspect that Diego could be the kidnapper when he is not home the whole night of Frida's release negotiations.
Abelardo is willing to pay whatever it takes to find out who put his daughter's card in his wallet, Martín comes to Marcela's rescue in what seems like a panic attack. Salvador, Enrique and Rafaela discuss Arteaga's dismissal.
Antonio and Ángel wake up together. Rafaela lures Enrique away from Pons companies with a reasonable offer.
Marcela takes the initiative when she realizes that information is being hidden, Salvador asks Enrique to resign from Pons companies. Marcela and Ingrid conclude that Frida is dating an older man.
There has been development in the case, and Abelardo is said to have seen Frida 5 hours after she was kidnapped. The police are willing to put Ingrid's theory to the test. Rafaela resigns from the Pons companies.
Abelardo is spying on Marcela. He also finds out from the Prosecutor's report what they plan against him. Salvador and Rafaela reconcile until Enrique’s name comes up.
Abelardo tries to take her wife away forcefully. Pons is found unconscious and hurried to the hospital. Marcela tells her husband that she wants to divorce him and take the children.
Every Frida family member must hand over all they have, except Ángel. Salvador proposes to Rafaela.
Marcela helps the police conduct a secret search on Abelardo. The connection between Abelardo and the kidnapping of his daughter is undeniable. Cabrera's psychologist advises her to abandon the case.
Rafaela and Salvador revive their marriage with a symbolic act. Cabrera is fighting to take over the interrogation while off the case.
Abelardo is taken to a court that deals with the kidnapping of minors and is considered a danger to society. Cabrera suffers an anxiety attack and goes to her psychiatrist’s house without an appointment.
Frida is shown a photograph of her detained father and can’t stand that her father is being accused of her kidnapping. The policeman asks Marcela to testify against her husband.
Rafaela confronts her husband for disappearing the whole night. Gaby surprises Antonio and announces the pregnancy.
Enrique and Sasha informed Abelardo that the company and 39 of its board of directors want him to resign. Meanwhile, his wife is pressured to testify against him in court.
Abelardo is bankrupt, and his wife still won't believe him when he says he would never hurt his daughters. The Prosecutor plans to raid all the properties belonging to the Pons.
Abelardo and Rafaela appointed Antonio as the interim president of the Pons companies. A Canadian businessman is called in to identify the kidnapper.
Frida runs out of food and manages to escape. Abelardo is transferred to the prison until trial. Diego hits one of the boys at school.
After escaping, Frida ends up in the middle of nowhere, trying to seek help. Marcela slaps the policeman.
Marcela tells the Prosecutor that she won't testify against Abelardo and is convinced he is innocent. Rafaela draws her conclusions and orders her husband to remove his mistress.
Salvador burns the evidence, buries a bag full of cash and prepares a weapon to kill Frida. Cabrera visits Marcela and assures her that she'll find her daughter.
The truth is so stark that Rafaela can't believe Salvador or the monster he became. It is about her husband and niece entangled in an impossible love story.
Martín Cabrera announces to the press that Frida has been found alive. Frida is taken to the operating room to remove a bullet in her body. Authorities go to the scene of the kidnapping to collect evidence.
Frida's letter sheds some light on Abelardo's relationship with his daughter, and later, Abelardo is released. Meanwhile, Frida is finally conscious and surrounded by loved ones. Later, Antonio confronts his son.
Salvador is overcome with emotion when looking into the eyes of his former hostage, which causes a crisis that he cannot hide, leading him to record a confessional. Meanwhile, Frida suffers a seizure.
Cantú and Robles arrive at Salvador Terán's workshop with a search warrant. Cabrera is convinced that Frida and her abductor were in a relationship. With nothing else but hope and faith, Marcela prays for her daughter.
Sasha must monitor Salvador at Abelardo's request. Pons suspects that her sister, Rafaela, is hiding something from him and it is necessary to know what it is. Diego unleashes his fury with Ángel and confronts her.
Salvador is in the hot seat but seems to have an answer for everything. Trying to get more answers from him, Cabrera lands a few punches in and finally gets somewhat of a confession.
Cabrera's pressure on Salvador continues as he takes a strand of hair from his shoulder that will later be used as DNA evidence. Frida had shared with her uncle how bad she felt to discover that her father had a lover.
Frida does not make it out of her second surgery and, sadly, loses her life. While her family is in grief, the authorities are on the hunt for the murderer for what prosecutors classify as first-degree intentional homicide.
It is Frida's funeral and Salvador is arrested in the Pantheon. Enrique asks Rafaela questions, and she is convinced of her husband's innocence. Sasha discovers Antonio and Ángel's romance and advises Olvera to tell Gaby the truth.
Salvador must answer questions from Cabrera and the Prosecutor. A secret relationship prompted Frida to run away from her house voluntarily, and the day after she disappeared, she called her uncle to be with him.
Salvador finally appears in court, but bail is denied until his next appearance. Rafaela tries to appeal, fearing for his life in prison.
Marcela visits Salvador in prison to confront the man who killed her daughter. Determined to get her husband out of prison, Rafaela hires a lawyer, which might not be the best idea for him.
With a case full of irregularities, Rafaela and her lawyer advance the hearing. The Prosecutor orders Salvador to the polygraph test, and Terán denies everything. Ingrid visits her father in prison and tells him she believes in him.
Salvador's former student appears in court to testify against. Marcela believes that Frida is trying to communicate with her from the grave. Meanwhile, Gabriela kicks Antonio out of the house.
Micaela finds too many coincidences with Laura's drawings, which is a cause for concern. The inmates are in charge of welcoming Terán, who suffers physical and psychological abuse. Cantú is jealous of Marcela.
Terán's lawyer wants him transferred to a maximum security prison. Martin and Marcela go to the psychologist to help them unpack and analyze Laura's drawings. Marcela starts having doubts about Salvador's involvement.
Prosecutor Zambrano interrogates Rafaela and focuses on Ingrid's psychological profile as a possible victim of her father, although her feelings for Salvador are unobjectionable. Gaby proposes a potential partnership with Ángel.
Marcela finally takes the stand and testifies, and with a single question, the defence discredits the investigators. The police have their theory of the events and speculate on a possible sentence of up to 155 years in prison.
The defense fights back. Rafaela presses charges of police harassment, and Martín must respond. The legal ruses draw an agent's profile with problems that affect the investigation.
It is finally D-day, and the court is ready to announce its verdict. Rafaela turns to her children for comfort as they wait to hear their father's fate. Meanwhile, Ángel is tired of keeping her relationship with Antoni a secret.
After a lengthy and expensive trial, Rafaela and Salvador consider moving to Montreal for a fresh start. The new consideration causes Cabrera to look into Rafaela's finances.
With hopes to confirm her suspicions, Marcela confronts Salvador about Frida's death. With a civil lawsuit against them, Pons is determined to ensure that Rafaela and Salvador do not leave the country.
Rafaela's plans are compromised, and she must now answer to the police while Salvador puts pieces to a puzzle together. Abelardo offers Sasha a position as an executive assistant and insists on surrounding himself with trustworthy people.
Rafaela and Salvador are trying to change the public's opinion about them. Meanwhile, the police received evidence that suggests that Rafaela is not as innocent as they thought. Antonio confesses to his wife that he is gay.
To stay out of prison, Rafaela destroys evidence that implicates her. Robles gives Abelardo a report on Salvador's movements and suggests tapping Teran's telephones.
After the news of the discovery of the evidence of Frida's case, Rafaela runs to see Sasha. From their wiretapped call from Robles to Abelardo, the police discover that there is an accomplice.
Seven blows from the back killed Sasha, indicating that she most likely knew her killer. Enrique arrives at the Pons' house, broken by the sudden death of Sasha.
The time has come for Robles to fulfil the mission that Abelardo entrusted to him. The police found Salvador's confession video, dated August 4, a few days before Frida's death. Marcela believes that Rafaela knows everything.
