The Dlamuka family conducts an ancestral ceremony to officially welcome Thando into the family.
While on their honeymoon, Siyacela proposes the idea of a second wife. Thando is shocked by the fact that Siyacela doesn't want her to go to university.
Thando starts her day at the crack of dawn to perform her household chores before going to school while Siyacela sleeps in.
Thando's family is overcome with emotion when they see her for the first since she got married two years ago. Siyacela's grandmother wants Thando to be a modern makoti.
Siyacela reluctantly performs a traditional forgiveness ritual for his grandmother for falsely accusing her of killing his mother.
Siyacela's father promised the young couple to care for them financially; they are not happy because they feel the father is not living up to his word.
Siyacela attempts to get his father to give him a house; however, his father disagrees.
Siyacela's 19-year-old sister is getting married; however, the Dlamuka family is not happy about that.
Dlamuka confronts his soon-to-be son-in-law about his motive for wanting to marry his 19-year-old daughter.
Thando's father wants to pay damages for his long-lost daughter. However, his family feels there is no need as Thando's mother was not a virgin when Thando was conceived.
Dlamuka is back home after being in hospital for 8 weeks. He is upset that there is still no peace between MaShange and Siyacela.
Nothing goes well on the day Siyacela and MaShange are supposed to perform an ancestral forgiveness ceremony.
