After a jealousy fuelled argument, Nkululeko Habedi from Skwatta Kamp fame's girlfriend, Sindisiwe, stabbed him in the chest. She claimed it was self-defence, but the court thought otherwise.
In 2020, Tshegofatso Pule went missing after visiting her boyfriend. She was found four days later with a gunshot wound to the chest, hanging from a tree. At the time, she was eight months pregnant.
On 26 June 2022, 21 people died under strange circumstances during celebrations at the Enyobeni Tavern in East London. Most of the victims were underage. The reason behind the deaths is yet to be revealed.
Tim Omotoso is the senior pastor of Jesus Dominion International in Durban. He is currently in jail awaiting trial. He is alleged to have groomed his victims and began molesting them from the age of 14.
Phumeza Pepeta was sitting in a car comforting her mother during her father's funeral when she was shot in the head and abdomen by her ex-husband. He was dressed in women's clothing to hide his identity.
R14 million was deposited into Sibongile Mani's student account by NSFAS erroneously. She went on to spend R800,000 of the money. She has been found guilty of theft but is appealing the verdict.
Flavio Hlabangwane was arrested in November 2022 after body parts were discovered in his freezer. They turned out to be those of his girlfriend, Tshepang Pitse, who also happened to be his cousin.
In April 2017, Karabo Mokeona went missing. A few days later, her burnt body was found in a field. Her boyfriend, Sandile, claimed she committed suicide, but the truth was more horrific.
Up-and-coming queer musician, Lindokuhle Cele, was stabbed repeatedly in Umlazi in what was believed to be a hate crime. Lindo's killer has since been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Sibusiso Mpungose, 44, was found guilty of murdering his three biological children and step-daughter. He fetched all his children from their respective schools, took them home, and hung them.
