Msiri is informed by the gods that Funzi island is about to be hit by a big calamity after their leader, Dalu, fails to name his successor between his two sons.
Kalume's love for Karembo wastes away as he begins pursuing Nuru. Kiza seeks advice from Bi Komo after Dalu rejects Mbura as his successor.
After Dalu's death Bi Komo does everything she can to make Nuru fall in love with Jasiri so she can be the first lady when Jasiri gets into power.
Bundez bids his support for Jasiri while Kiza sides with Mbura forcing Msiri to involve the gods for a solution.
Kalume continues in his fight for Nuru's love. The sibling tussle for leadership intensifies as Msiri receives a solution from the gods.
The gods give their conditions on what has to be done in order for one to get the slot. The natives are encouraged to worry not since a leader will soon be found.
Jasiri and Mbura's delay in returning from the deep causes anxiety in the people but finally Jasiri receives assistance from Safira.
Mbura and Kiza plan on playing foul to Jasiri in the next leadership challenge. Bi Komo prepares a love charm drink so that Nuru falls in love with Jasiri.
Mbura brags on the idea that he will win this one but in the long run, it is Jasiri who emerges victorious once again with the help of Bi Komo.
Bi Komo hands the love charm drink to Nuru but she fails to follow the instructions and ends up falling in love with Kalume instead.
Kalume wonders at how Nuru fell in love with him. Nimimi is shocked at the news from Nuru that her new lover is Kalume.
The mermaid family blames Safira for taking too long to bring the ring to them. Bi Komo is oblivious of the fact that Nuru is in love with Kalume and not Jasiri.
Mbura lashes out on Bundez accusing him to be the one behind the postponement of the final ring challenge in order to favor Jasiri.
Karembo condemns Nuru and Kalume criticizes Karembo for attacking Nuru. Bi Komo strengthens the charm without knowing who her granddaughter is really in love with.
Mbura is cheered upon by the villagers and he is made leader of the people. The mermaids become terrified and get more determined in their quest for the ring.
