Zephany Nurse was kidnapped from Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town in 1997 when she was three days old. She was reunited with her biological parents, Morné and Celeste Nurse, 17 years later.
On 27 January 2015, Henri's mother, father and brother were brutally murdered in their home on the De Zalze estate in Stellenbosch. In 2018, Henri was found guilty of these murders.
Susan Rhode died under strange circumstances on the night of 23 July 2016. Her death was initially considered a suicide, but later that year, the police confirmed they were investigating it as a murder.
