Vuyo is at deaths door, as the family makes plans for the unveiling of her father, while Funeka flees her Cape Town home.
Vuyo is not willing to hand over the power to run the family business to her sister. Zola and Mbulelo wash their hands off the drama and the family home burns down.
Zola tries to get to the bottom of what caused the fire using Phiri as the family spy. A death in the family leaves the business without a successor.
Funeka establishes her dominance by appealing to Tamnci MK to use his authority as the family spokesperson.
Mbulelo wakes up from a chilling nightmare and Imani is right there to comfort him.
Funeka rises to the occasion and does a beautiful job of embalming Vuyo’s body. The boys can’t believe how beautiful their mother could have been, with the aid of a little make up.
Business has to continue unfortunately at the Grootboom and Sons Funeral Parlor, post Vuyo’s passing. Everybody is either drained or hung over and Funeka cracks a whip.
Early the next morning, Vuyo's will is read out to the family. Zola is not happy to learn that his undeserving brother has officially been given an equal ownership in the business.
Now that all the five funerals are behind them and the bank account empty, Mbulelo then comes under the family spotlight with suspicion of financial misconduct.
In the office, everyone is trying to get used to Funeka being the new owner. Vuyo was a traditionalist and Funeka is too experimental with her ideas for how to run the business.
Mbulelo finally cleans out his mother's belongings in Funeka's new office. He might be the chosen one, burdened with hearing the voice, but he's no match to Funeka.
Phiri is now freaking out. He found out the truth about the boys working for Funeka. Funeka offers to pay for the boys funerals, as a charitable gift to their parents.
MK is eternally grateful to be given the honour of being the new funeral director of Grootboom and Sons. The family has a private unveiling in honour of Vuyo.
- A funeral-home owner hands the family business over to her sons, hoping that they will finally step up, but her estranged sister returns home, with other plans.
