Jan-Gustav and Keagan notice someone or something hiding among the reeds at the river. Shortly thereafter a child disappears without a trace. Does the nightmare start again? Is the serial killer back?
The town is in chaos: the serial killer of 13 years ago was buried. Frikkie's disappearance couldn't be his doing. Detectives from Johannesburg are called in and Ian Vos goes home.
A tape-recording is found and S'bu and Deon race with it to PE. When Sonja offers her assistance she is chased from the station. Esti and Jan-Gustav try to lure the beast from his hiding place.
When the townspeople see the Gazette's headline, panic and fear sets in. Piet Pille is once again a prime suspect. Could Esti's dad, the mechanic who sells drugs, really be the serial killer?
Keagan realises the beast is a weird high school pupil called Basjan. The preachers wife tries to change Esti into a dainty little girl. The children wants to find out more about Basjan.
The kids realise that Basjan's life is in danger and hide him in an empty bus wreck in town. Basjan stares at the house across the way from the scrapyard - a memory floods back when he sees Ian.
A national news story about Frikkie heighten the townspeople's fears. It's Jan-Gustav's birthday. Ian sees the 13 on the cake and realises that Lara jumped into bed with Junior right after he left.
The townspeople are astounded that Frikkie is still alive. S'bu discovers that the background sound on the whistle-recording is that of a shell chime. Keagan tries to tell his father about Basjan.
The town celebrates. Werner pressures Gert to get rid of Ig in the holding cell. Angelique gets overemotional in the hotel bar, where Adam is waiting for Keagan.
Jan-Gustav finds out who his biological father is and runs away. De Wet and Sonja learns that Lourens was innocent. The townspeople are alarmed when the clock-rule is reinstated.
Lara tells Junior that she can't continue living a lie. She wants a divorce. Werner and Angelique find out that Junior is not Jan-Gustav's father. During the commotion Jan-Gustav is found.
From the top of the mountain Bennie sees where Immelman is heading. Immelman drags Keagan into an old building and chain him. Drunkard Gert wants to make an end to everything, he shoots but misses.
More gunshots go off. Immelman is hit, but drags Bennie away. Keagan is overcome by the smoke. De Wet sees Ian on the ground and storms through the flames into the building. Keagan is safe.
