My Showmax app isn’t working


If you are having trouble streaming content on the Showmax app, here are some troubleshooting tips to help you resolve the issue. 

 

If you’re having problems with video playback or buffering, take a look at Troubleshooting video issues on Showmax.

If you’re seeing errors related to your country or location, take a look at I get an error saying Showmax is unavailable in my country.

If that doesn’t help, try the below steps to help get you back to streaming your favourite content:

Sign out of your Showmax account 

Sometimes simply signing out and signing back in can resolve a variety of issues. Follow the instructions below to sign out of your Showmax account:

  1. In the Showmax app’s homepage, click on your avatar
  2. Click on the Account button and go to Settings.
  3. Select Sign Out  at the bottom of the screen. 
  4. Wait a few minutes and sign back in. 

Check for Updates

Ensure you device operating system and your Showmax app is up to date. Check your manufacturer’s instructions for details on how to update your device operating system. Check for a new version of the Showmax app in your device’s store (Google Play Store, App Store, LG Content Store, etc.).

Reinstall the app

If your Showmax app is up to date, try clearing data by uninstalling and reinstalling the app, as this often helps to resolve app issues. 
Note that if you delete the app, any downloaded content will be deleted and will need to be downloaded again.
